September Update: Summer Season Draws to a Close

Last Sunday saw our final concert of the summer season, and what a wonderful finale it was. The audiences have been wonderful throughout our (shortened) season, but on 5th September they really made the concert something special. Many came early to support our training band, who performed brilliantly despite this being their first concert since Christmas 2019. In fact, for several players it was either their first ever concert, or the first for many years (59 in one case!), having picked their instruments back up during lockdown. Charlie, Dylan and Emily each played a short solo piece, and the warm support of the audience throughout their concert gave all the players an incredible boost and we can’t wait until our next concert at Christmas! The main concert at 8pm featured the audience’s choices, as it was request night, and included favourites such as “Kingdom of Asturias”, “A Special Place” and “Light As Air”. Although the final hymn tune brought with it the sad realisation that the season was over for 2021, we have been so pleased to be back, and we would like to thank our superb supporters who have been so generous, loyal and encouraging.

You don’t have to wait until 2022 to hear the band again! On Saturday 16th October, we will be putting on our Autumn concert at the Manor Pavilion. Tickets are now on style through the theatre box office https://manorpavilion.com/event-detail?eventid=15201. Tickets for the Christmas concerts are also on sale. These tend to go very quickly, so do get your tickets soon if you would like to come on either Friday 3rd December (7.30pm) or Saturday 4th December (3pm) https://manorpavilion.com/event-detail?eventid=15401.
